Paride Fioretti guitar player

An acoustic duo featuring Elena Allegretto on violin and Paride Fioretti on acoustic guitar, performing folk songs, classical pieces, evergreens and other music arranged for guitar and violin.

When required, the duo can expand into a trio with the addition of a singer.

Paride Fioretti:

He first approached the guitar in the late 1970s with the arrival of punk, then devoted himself to rock and to studying acoustic folk, country and bluegrass music. At the same time, he developed a passion for another traditional instrument, the mandolin.
During the 1980s and 1990s he performed live with the band bearing his name. His greatest influences include Jimmy Page, Ritchie Blackmore, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Doc Watson, Tony Rice and Beppe Gambetta. From 2006 to 2013 he was also the guitarist in the Led Zeppelin tribute band CARTEFALSE.

Elena Allegretto:

After beginning her studies in Udine, Elena graduated from the L. Marenzio Conservatory in Brescia under Professor L. Andreoli. She also studied with P. Massa and V. Mendelssohn during the International Advanced Courses in Portogruaro, with G. Mayer and H. Fister, and with D. Briatore, principal viola of Teatro Verdi in Trieste. She attended the orchestral training course organised by Amici della Musica di Vicenza under Jodi Levitz and Leon Spierer. In 2006 she attended a masterclass in Monfalcone led by cellist A. Meunier. She has played with many orchestral and chamber ensembles in Friuli Venezia Giulia and elsewhere, including Collegium Musicum, Orchestra Filarmonica di Udine, Orchestra Sinfonica del Friuli Venezia Giulia, Teatro Verdi di Trieste, Karmelos, Orchestra da Camera del Friuli Venezia Giulia, Accademia Naonis, Filarmonica Veneta, Mikrokosmos and the Stravinsky Nonet. She is a regular member of the Mitteleuropa Orchestra. She attended D. Zanettovich's composition course at the J. Tomadini Conservatory in Udine and holds a degree in Musicology from the School of Musical Palaeography and Philology in Cremona.
She is a member of Quartetto Pezzè, formed by young musicians with a dedicated interest in chamber music.
The quartet was established at the J. Tomadini Conservatory, where it studied under A. Vianello. It continued its training in courses led by R. Repini at the L. Bon Foundation, Franco Rossi at the Trio di Trieste International School of Chamber Music, and B. Baraz, V. Berlinsky and B. Giuranna at the summer advanced courses in Portogruaro, where the group also received a scholarship. It studied with Nuovo Quartetto Italiano during the Asolo Chamber Music Festival and attended the Alpe Adria International Seminar under L. Simoncini. In August 2001 it attended a chamber-music course in Cividale led by V. Mendelssohn.
The quartet won joint second prize at the third National Biennial Trio and Quartet Competition in Vittorio Veneto, joint first prize in the chamber-music category at the sixth Vittoria Caffa Righetti International Competition in Cortemilia (CN), and joint third prize at the L. Caraian Competition in Trieste.
It toured several major Spanish cities, including Madrid, Alcalá de Henares, Toledo, León and Figueres, in collaboration with Juventudes Musicales de España, and took part in the Schubertiadi series in Vilabertran, Barcelona.
Alongside the classical repertoire, the quartet recorded music by Gorizia-born composer Cecilia Seghizzi and worked with leading jazz musicians, including Nevio Zaninotto on his album Gig Time and the G. Venier Trio on recordings of the musical tale Il vieli, il dragon e il cavalîr with K. Gesing, and Gorizia with K. Wheeler.
It also recorded Los Musicantes, featuring singers L. Parmigiani and F. Drioli, and Omaggio a Damiano, with songs arranged by V. Sivilotti.
Together with accordionist Sebastiano Zorza, Elena performs works by A. Piazzolla in their own arrangements.
She worked with Cinemazero in Pordenone and Cineteca del Friuli on live performances of soundtracks for silent films, including La Sentinella della Patria, released on CD and video.
She has recorded for RAI and Catalan Radio.
She works with major regional choirs, including the F.V.G. Gospel Choir and Le Colone choir of Castions di Strada on Oltre la notte and A forza di essere vento – De André.
